Earls Court, London. 1996.
Photographed with a Canon 100D using Fuji Velvia Slide Film. Exposure approximately 30 seconds.
I'd just arrived in London. It was my first trip to the UK. We arrived with no accommodation plans and found a room at the top of some shops in Earls Court for a couple of nights. Our budget was slim, so it was certainly nothing to rave about - but we remember it as the 'blue room' as the walls were painted a very bright shade of blue. I shot this out the window while we watched the cars and people on the street. It had been raining which made the road and water reflect the lights even more.
In 1998, this photograph won an award in Photography International magazine.
How about you? Have you ever stayed in Earls Court? Have you been to London? Would love to hear your stories!
