Over on the Darkroom Door blog we've been sharing projects created with the Sweet Treats Collection.
This was one of my favourite collections to photograph... because we had all those yummy things to eat afterwards! Can't let them go to waste that's for sure!!
It was quite amusing purchasing all of the goodies. I swear the shop assistant must have thought I was on some sort of sugar binge (and perhaps she was right!) I mean, 8 packets of Smarties? Big round lollipops. Three bags of licorice all sorts?
The licorice allsorts stamp is one of my favourites from the Sweet Treats collection. So striking with the contrast between black and white!
Who's keen for ice cream?
Photographing the ice cream was hilarious... it melts so quickly, so you've got to be quick to get the scoops in the right place and shoot it before it's a slippery mess. I had my kids on hand to eat them afterwards (yes we went through about 4 or 5 cones before getting the right shot). The kids couldn't believe it, they were in heaven as I kept handing them ice cream after ice cream! Can you imagine? "Quick eat this!" There weren't any arguements from the kids, especially as it was homemade strawberry and vanilla ice cream, their favourites. (not homemade from me though)
Photographing the cupcakes was another highlight! I had two dozen specially made for the shoot. One dozen vanilla with strawberry icing, one dozen chocolate with chocolate icing. They were the most delicious cupcakes I'd ever tasted! So rich in taste!
Once I'd photographed them, I then created polaroid transfers for the final image to give them that beautiful dreamy look. Here's the Montage sheet which shows most of the images:
So... the Sweet Treats Collection is a celebration of all those yummy treats we all love! To see all the other images, check out the full collection here.
What's your favourite treat? Do you cook your own special goodies? If anyone has any yummy recipes they'd love to share, please put a link in the comments too! :)
