It's been almost a month since I've been home from my trip to Europe & the UK, but still catching up on sharing all the news! One of the events I did in the UK was the Craft, Hobby & Stitch show in Birmingham. It's a trade show for the craft industry and I was doing Darkroom Door demo's for our UK distributor Personal Impressions. Driving into Birmingham was an adventure in itself... snowstorms galore, poor visibility on the roads, and trucks zooming past. Here's what it looked like:
The show went for 3 days and the Personal Impressions booth was buzzing with lots of new product and demo's from Shari Carroll (Hero Arts), Tim Holtz, Claudine Helmuth & Suze Weinberg (all from Ranger), Lindsay Mason (Personal Impressions) and me (Darkroom Door).
They had a colourful booth:
Shari took a couple of shots of me setting up for my demo:
Each year they all go to this restaurant and it's become a running tradition that one person from the group will receive the ice swan for their birthday. Of course it's not really anyone's birthday on the night, it's just for a laugh as the lights in the restaurant dim, the Chinese birthday music starts and the restaurant staff come out to sing happy birthday! The swan comes out with massive sparklers, and is loaded full of bubblegum ice cream with fruit on the side! This year it was Claudine's turn:
There's no way she could eat all of that... but these two certainly had a go:
The trade show itself was really successful. I was able to meet many of the store owners who stock our Darkroom Door stamps and products, show them some techniques on how to use the new stamps and paper product along with Background stamps and Photo stamps. Thanks to Personal Impressions for such a fun and fabulous few days!!! Before we knew it, the 3 days were over and it was time to head down to London for QVC. Here's what the view from my hotel room on the last day:
