Our fabulous guest artist Godelieve Tijskens has an amazing project to share with you! Check it out:

She has decorated a note holder with the Daisies from the Viva La Flora Photochips. The Photochip has been inked and embossed to give it the white edge. The little quote 'enjoy every moment' is from the Viva La Flora Vol 1 stamp set, also stamped and embossed. Here are some more images:

Godelieve has stamped little butterflies on the note paper inside the box too using the Butterflies stamp set. How cute do they look :)

World Card Making Day - Photochip Cards

Happy World Card Making Day!

Today I went over to the Erina Scrapbook Store to teach a couple of make & takes with our Robot Collection. The store was certainly a busy place today - as they had all sorts of fun activities and card making challenges and demo's and other make & takes going on! One my table we created two cards using the Filmstrips, Wordstrips, and the Photochips from the Robot Collection. Here's the cards we created with the Photochips and Wordstrips. Quick, easy, and fun!

Orange_Photochip

Green_Photochip

Blue_Photochip

Pink_Photochip

Yellow_Photochip

Red_Photochip

As you can see, they are all the same basic design, but using colours and ribbons that co-ordinate with the colours in the Photochips. Also, the different words from the Wordstrips created a whole lot of fun too. I always say that it doesn't matter if you used the same card design for the whole pack of Photochips - as it's rare you'd be giving two cards to the one person anyway! Of course there are many other ways to use the Photochips too, just check out the Darkroom Door Gallery

I've always wanted to give these robots a name, so let's have a challenge! Here's how to participate:

1. Come up with names for each of the robots shown above.
2. Leave a comment and write your name for each robot in order as they appear in the post here.

You have until Midnight Monday 6th Australian Eastern Standard Time (Sydney) to post your comment.

From the names posted in the comments, the name we like the best for each robot will be the winnner! So that means up to six winners! Winners will receive a pack of Robot Photochips and Wordstrips so you can create your own set of cards! (cardstock and ribbon not included - we used them all up today in the make & take!)

So get creative, and give these robots a name! :)

Hope you are all having a creative world card making day!

Tinted Photochips

Venice_Tinted Last Saturday I did a demo at Erina Scrapbook Store, and one of the things I demoed was how to tint the black and white Photochips. There are plenty of ways to do this, including Distress Inks, Tombows, Marvy Markers, and then there's the Zig Photo Twin markers, which is what I have used to colour the image shown here. Fun! I'll do a longer blog post here soon to show you the different ways they can be coloured. (I'll just get the samples ready first!)

Another Guest Artist on Friday.... actually we have a duo! Don't miss it!

SIA Trade Show & Winners

Doors_1

(Card created with 'Doors' Rubber Stamp set.)

We have been super busy here in the studio and darkroom preparing for the SIA (Scrapbooking Industry Australia) Trade Show which starts in Sydney tomorrow. This will be our first booth ever for Darkroom Door - so it has been a LOT of preparation making all the samples and getting everything ready for the booth! Super excited though, as we're looking forward to showing all the retailers the actual products, and of course we'll have some fun make and takes on the booth, plus giveaways and my workshop on the Tuesday. So it's guaranteed to be a fun few days!!!

If you're attending the show, please drop by our booth #7!

Winners of the Photochips (from the previous post) are:
1. Lyn S
2. Teresa
3. Glee Scrap

Congrats!! Please email us your mailing address and I'll send you out some Photochips!

We'll be back in a couple of days with photos of the show. In the meantime...

Full Bloom Photochips

Here's a few quick cards that can be made with the Full Bloom Photochips, Full Bloom Wordstrips and quotes and words from the Full Bloom Vol 2 Rubber Stamps. This first card is super quick and simple. Just grab some cardstock that is the same colour (or similar) to the petals on the flower, some ribbon, and  a little Wordstrip word. This same design can be repeated with all 6 Photochip images in the packet, just alternate the colour of the cardstock according to what colour the flower is. When made as a complete set it really looks like a rainbow! But here's just one for now:
Fullbloom_1

Fullbloom_2 This card is similar, but I have inked the flower with Antique Linen Distress Ink to give it a slightly warmer tone, and have scratched the edges. The tiny tags have been stamped with the tiny words from the Full Bloom Vol 2 stamp set.

Lastly, for this card I have stamped directly onto the Photochip itself. The Photochips stamp beautifully, and can be heat set if you're using a longer drying ink. I used Archival Grape for this card.

So who wants some Photochips? Just comment here and tell us which is your favourite flower from the Full Bloom Photochips. We'll draw 3 names and will send you out a packet of Full Bloom Photochips to play with! We'll announce the winners Monday morning!

Stamp Camp Photochip Challenge!

I've just spent a fun weekend in Staveley, New Zealand teaching at the 2bStamping Stamp Camp! On the Friday night all the ladies were given a challenge pack from Doreen (owner of 2bStamping) which included a Venetian Photochip image, some Venetian Wordstrips, and then a selection of black and white card stock and ribbons. Everyone was challenged to create a card of some sort using anything from the challenge pack, and the card had to remain black and white. There was a flurry of activity and ideas being thrown around as the challenge was being done! I was so impressed with all the ideas and creations, and especially loved looking at all the different ways they used the Photochips! There were lots of prizes and stamps being given away too - which I hope you all enjoy!

The ladies were happy to share their art here on the blog too, so please enjoy a selection of these wonderful cards from the 2bStamping Stamp Camp Challenge:
