We have a couple of projects using the Sail Away stamp set to share with you today! This is a stamp set that I've been wanting to design for a while now, as my Grandfather is crazy about boats and I spent many days with him on his sailing boat as a kid. I remember sitting on the deck with the wind in my hair, looking out at the horizon, enjoying the sunshine! Magical times and I can understand why sailors feel so alive out on the ocean!
So for this set I wanted to include a sailing boat, a bigger ship and various elements that can be used to build up collages and backgrounds for your projects. The large compass is sized to fit a 2" circle punch so it's easy to punch out and layer if needed! Plus a couple of quotes which I think sum up the feeling of setting sail so eloquently.
Onto some projects...
From Rachel: The large compass was stamped onto the card with Archival Coffee inkpad, then sponged around the edges of the card with the same ink. The large ship was stamped with Archival Jet Black ink onto a light blue cardstock, along with the little 'Set Sail' word. Mounted it onto a darker blue cardstock and added brads in all four corners. Wrapped some plaited twine around the left side and tied at the front. Adhered entire panel to the card with foam adhesive.
Here's a fabulous wall hanging from Godelieve... how great would this look in a beach house!
From Godelieve: I used Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels Ten to cut a piece of watercolor paper. Distress Stains #Pumice Stone and Broken China are used to do the water. I stamped with Ranger Archival ink #Coffee, I punched holes and used white twine and a bead to finish off the wall hanging.
Hope you enjoy these ideas!

We'd like to share some projects using the Dear Santa collection - this has been a really popular collection, especially with Christmas just around the corner! I altered the vintage images using a Polaroid Transfer technique to make them unique for Darkroom Door. Together they form a beautiful collection of Santa images and stamps for us to use on our Christmas projects this year!
Let's take a look at some artwork:
From Rachel: I stamped the Santa from Dear Santa Vol 1 set using Archival Olive ink, mounted onto brown and red cardstock. Added some antique brads to the corners. Merry Christmas was stamped in Archival Vermillion ink and adhered to red cardstock. I used some mesh underneath, just adhered with double sided tape under the stamped parts so you can't see the adhesive. Then adhered the stamped pieces using foam dots.
Here's some projects with Dear Santa Vol 2 stamp set:
From Teresa: I have used some papers from a My Mind's Eye 6x6 pad, some Stampin' Up ribbon, and some shiny red berries for this card. The Santa image is stamped with Black Cherry StazOn ink, and given an aged look with some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. I was careful not to sponge ink over Santa's face, leaving it as a bit of a highlight.
From Teresa: I love using kraft cardstock. Here I've stamped the Santa image and 25 Dec from the new Dear Santa set using Midnight Blue StazOn ink. I have placed this image over some corrugated cardboard, and attached various trims and a brad from My Mind's Eye. The patterned paper is Graphic45. The Santa image is perfect for achieving a vintage look.
From Rachel: I wanted to create a really simple card that could be produced in large quantities for those of us who have lots of cards to send out but don't have a lot of time to dedicate to intricate cards. Simply stamped the sentiment in the centre of the cardstock in Archival Vermillion ink, then stamped around the edges with the pine branch. I've stamped a couple of times without re-inking to give that shadow effect which softens it a little. Adhered the stamped panel onto red cardstock, then onto the green card using foam adhesive to give it a little lift!
Teresa has done a similar idea with a few more elements... I love the bells and charms!
From Teresa: The fonts used for the words in this set are wonderfully vintage, and make a great centrepiece for a card. Here I've used Olive StazOn ink to repeatedly stamp the branch for the background. I have used some Nestabilities to die cut shapes, and sponged Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to age the pieces. I added a gold bow and a bell to finish the card. A design like this would be great for mass production of this year's Christmas cards. Here's some alternative sentiments:
Aren't they stunning! The hardest part this year is choosing which card to make!!
Here's some ideas using some of the Montage images:
From Teresa: I used some of the gorgeous Olive Precious Metal Colour to paint the chipboard tag and some gauze. The binding agents in the paint adhere the gauze to the chipboard without the need for glue. I applied the paint with a sponge. Although there is some gold shimmer in the paint, I highlighted the texture with some Inka Gold.
From Sarah: I cut out three of the large images from the Montage and distressed the edges with a paper distresser. Adhered them to the card and added a wordstrip.
From Michelle: I stamped the Christmas Word Block Stamp on red patterned paper using Ranger Archival 'Library Green' Ink and Sparkle Embossing Powder then used a variety of borders from a Kaisercraft paper pad. I mounted the main image from the Montage with foam tape for dimension. I then finished by placing the Wordstrips on a paper tab and attaching with foam tape.
Here's an ATC from Michelle too:
Hope these projects have given you some great ideas for your Christmas projects!

We'd like to share some projects with you using the new London Collection! The Creative Team have been busy and have come up with some fabulous ideas using the rubber stamps and all of the paper products. Let's take a look:
From Teresa: This image from London Vol 1 stamp set has been stamped with Midnight Blue StazOn onto kraft cardstock. I mounted this piece onto a navy mat and machine stitched around it to create a border. A Tim Holtz Philosophy Tag hangs from some jute twine.
From Teresa: I stamped the double decker bus in black, masked it, then stamped the large Piccadilly Circus image in grey over the top of it. I added a teeny tiny pop of colour to the flag on the bus with my Marvy Le Plume markers.
From Rachel: Westminster Abbey was stamped in Archival Sepia ink onto kraft cardstock and adhered to a red ATC back. I stitched around the edges with no thread, just to get the dots. The postage mark was stamped in Vermillion Archival ink and attached with foam tape. A Tim Holtz ornate corner finishes it off!
From Rachel: Stamped onto glossy cardstock with Archival Jet Black inkpad. The image was coloured with Marvy Le Plume pens: 15 Olive Green, 46 Crimson Lake, 26 Silver Grey, 24 Beige. I used a Blender Pen to dilute the darker colours.
From Teresa: I stamped a bunch of iconic images from the London Vol 1 stamp set in red, blue and black for this card, cut them out, distressed the edges and sponged all over with Tea Dye Distress Ink. I sprayed a few droplets of walnut ink over the top for an even more aged look, and raised some of the images with foam dots.
From Teresa: I just can't bleieve the detail in these stamps!! :)
And now for some projects using the paper products: Photochips, Montage, Filmstrips and Wordstrips!
From Teresa: Three gorgeous filmstrip images and some words from the wordstrip on a background made with a Tim Holtz embossing folder (Bricked) sponged with some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink. There's some hand-dyed calico right at the back too.
From Rachel: I stamped a couple of the smaller stamps from London Vol 2 stamp set, then adhered 4 smaller Montage images into a grid. Then drew lines in between to finish it off!
From Rachel: I found this chipboard fram (Deluxe Cuts) in my stash and it was perfect for the larger Montage images! Adhered it all to a card, added a Wordstrip on top to finish it off.
From Teresa: I stamped the bridge with some Stone Gray StazOn ink and then coloured the bridge images from the Montage sheet with Distress Inks. The word from the Wordstrip forms a bridge between the coloured images - love a punny card!
From Teresa: I have used the very imposing Buckingham Palace image from the Photochips pack for this monochromatic card. There are a couple of shapes cut with Nestabilities under the words. I reckon this would make a great dinner invitation - "Come dressed for dinner with the Queen. No riff raff!" LOL.
So as you can see, some great ideas on how to use the London Collection! We have even more project ideas to share with you, but will save them for another day! Hope you like these - we'd love to hear your comments!!!
