We're so pleased to have Belinda as our latest Guest Artist!! The first time I saw Belinda's work I was blown away by all the detail and texture! Each piece she creates truly is a work of art. Today we are sharing a bunch of projects that Belinda has created using the Seaside Collection. Savour and enjoy :)
CARD #1: PERFECT DAY:
The background for this card was created by heat embossing various seashells stamps from the Seashells Rubber Stamps Set DDRS055 with a clear hologram embossing powder. Then Sea Glass and Marshmallow Glimmermists were splattered across the surface. The Seaside Photochip DDPC012 was sanded and inked with Antique Linen Distress Ink and a banner was made from some Seaside Vol 1 Filmstrip images DDFS025. Individual letters were cut from the Seaside Wordstrip DDWS017 for the sentiment and then mounted on Bazzill and chipboard for added dimension.
CARD #2: TREASURE
I have used some of the San Marco pattern paper DDPP001 on this card. The Seaside Photochip DDPC012 was sanded, inked and distressed. The edges were then inked again. I stamped the starfish stamp from the Seashells Stamp Set DDRS055 onto some transparency with Jet Black Staz On, cut it out and attached it to the front of the Photochip with a black brad. I added some gauze bandage sprayed liberally with Sand Glimmermist and then pulled apart a bit to look weathered as well as some bauble lace, jute, beads and charms to look like little seaside treasures.
CARD #3: FOR YOU
For this card I have cut a piece of scrap cardboard to fit the card base. I then tore away some of the surface of the cardboard to expose the corrugations. I inked the exposed bits and then stamped some small images from the Seashells Rubber Stamp Set DDRS055 over the rest. I added some black plastic mesh (from a marble bag I convinced my kids to let me have!!) and layered a Seaside Photochip DDPC012 over the top. The Photochip was sanded, inked, distressed and inked again, tied up with string and a metal seashell charm added. I really love the strength of the Photochips as I am quite heavy handed with my distressing and they can really take it.
CARD #4: RELAX
For the Seaside Photochip DDPC012 on this card, I simply sanded the edges, rubbed in some Antique Linen Distress Ink, distressed and then inked the edges with Weathered Wood Distress Ink. I chose some images from the Seashells Rubber Stamp Set DDRS055 and stamped them onto transparency using Jet Black Staz On. I then cut them out and layered at the bottom of the Photochip with a seahorse charm and some beads.
And now for some ATC's...
ATC #1: EXPLORE
I have used a little scrap of San Marco pattern paper DDPP001 on the base of this ATC. On top of that I have layered an image from the Seaside Montage sheet. I distressed the edges of the image and inked with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink before applying a good coat of Rock Candy Distress Cracke Paint to age it. Once dry I rubbed some Frayed Burlap Distress Ink over the surface. I heat embossed some Seashells Rubber Stamp images with a Bronze Metallic embossing powder onto Kraft cardstock and then cut out and added at the base of the Montage image.. The small butterfly from the Butterflies Rubber Stamp Set DDRS025 was stamped twice; first onto some Kraft and then again onto transparency. I cut them out and layered them on the ATC.
ATC #2: THE BEACH
For the base of this ATC, I applied Gesso to some Kraft with an old credit card and then rubbed in some Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. I added some torn and sanded pieces of Core’dinations cardstock and attached them with some random zig zag handstitching. The clam shell from the Seashells Rubber Stamp Set was stamped on Kraft cardstock, white wax crayon applied in places and then Antique Linen and Faded Jeans Distress Inks rubbed in. I cut out the shell and added to the ATC with 3D foam in the centre for added dimension.
ATC #3: BEACH HUTS
The base of this ATC is a piece of Tim Holtz Grunge Paper that I have applied Gesso to with an old credit card. I then rubbed in some Faded Jeans Distress Ink to give the impression of a cloudy sky. I added a torn and inked piece of Kraft at the bottom to represent the sand at the beach. Next I distressed and inked a beach huts image from the Seaside Vol 2 Filmstrip and added to the ATC. From a second filmstrip, I cut out some parts of the same image, mounted them on chipboard and inked the edges before adding to the original image on the ATC to give a 3D effect.I finished by cutting out some stamped images and adding to the ATC with a metal charm and words cut from the Seaside Wordstrip.
Supplies used on all projects can be found here in the Seaside Collection
