Flickr Challenge Closing Soon!

Black, White & Red Flickr Challenge!

A few months ago I sent some stamps over to my friend Godelieve as a surprise, and silly me included a stamp set that she already owned! (duh!) Godelieve wants to pay it forward and pass it onto one of you! So we have decided to have a challenge on the Darkroom Door Flickr group.

Here are the details:

1. Create a project using black, white and red (like the DD logo!) using any Darkroom Door product.
2. Upload a photo or scan of your project to the Darkroom Door Flickr group. (if you are not a member, it's easy to join!)
3. Tag your project with 'blackwhitered'
4. Upload your project before midnight August 31st, 2009 (Aust Eastern Standard Time) to be in the draw!

Prizes:
Godelieve will send out one stamp set to one lucky winner... but wait, there's more... we will also send out another two stamp sets to two more winners. So that's three stamp sets up for grabs! (just to clarify: each winner will receive one stamp set).

Scrap It TV - Tinting Photochips

A few months ago I filmed a few segments for Scrap It TV which is shown on the Aurora Foxtel Channel 183 here in Australia. (I posted on my RGP blog about the filming here). The new series of Scrap It TV has now started screening... it's on Thursday nights @ 7.30pm on the Aurora Channel.

One of the segments I shot was about Tinting Photochips. Tony (the exec producer of the series) gave me permission to put the segments up on the web to help spread the word about it! You can see the first one here:

Supplies used:
Photochips: Viva La Flora
Wordstrips: Viva La Flora
Marvy Le Plume II Pens

This technique works really well with any of our black & white images: Venetian, Music, Viva La Flora and Prague. You can tint the Photochips, Filmstrips, Montage and the Wordstrips using the Marvy Le Plume II pens, and your own black and white photos can also be tinted this way!

Inkurable Stampers Music Challenge

Inkurable Stampers is another great challenge site... and you can even win prizes!!! Woo hoo! This months theme is 'Music'. We have an entire Music Collection including four stamp sets, so there's certainly no shortage of music stamps here to play with :)

Sarah has shown a few of my Music samples on the Inkurable Blog here. I also wanted to show you another quick ATC I have created with a Music theme:

Supplies:
Darkroom Door Rubber Stamps: Melody (Flute Lady), Chorus (Quote)
Darkroom Door Paper: Allegro
Ink: Archival Jet Black
Stickles: Black Diamond

I stamped the Flute Lady onto the Allegro paper (this paper is fabulous for stamping onto!) and mounted it onto black ATC sized cardstock. Edged with the Stickles (allow to dry!). The quote was also stamped onto Allegro paper, trimmed to different sections and mounted onto the ATC with foam tape.

Enjoy Life - Take a Ride

Another great challenge blog is Wednesday Stamper. They post up new challenges every Wednesday (or every second Wednesday during their summer time). This weeks challenge is Take A Ride. I instantly thought of our new Enjoy Life stamp set which has the images of the bikes. Here is a card I created this morning for the challenge:

Supplies:
Stamps: Little Dreams (text), Enjoy Life (Bike image, Enjoy)
Marvy Le Plume II Pens: 68 Daffodil Yellow (bike), 27 Olive Brown (tree branch), 13 Ochre (Door), 38 Oyster Grey (Path), 46 Crimson Lake (seat and guards on bike), 24 Beige (Bricks)
Ink: Archival Jet Black.

TGIF Challenge: Pens & Brushes

There are so many wonderful challenge sites out there to get you motivated and inspired to try new techniques and ideas. The 'Thank God it's Friday' challenge site has a theme of 'Pens and Brushes' for this week. Here's an ATC I made using the Artist Stamp set which has both a pen and a brush in the set.

For the Create Art ATC: I stamped the splatter stamp in blue to cover the complete background, then stamped 'create art', the paintbrush and calligraphy pen in black and embossed with Hologram EP. Inked the edges with Cobalt ink and simply mounted onto black cardstock.

New Swap - Wilderness Collection

We enjoyed the Viva La Flora ATC Swap so much that we want to continue the fun. Now we're hosting a  swap using the Wilderness Collection!

 

Here are all the details: 

Use any product from the Wilderness Collection to create Artist Trading Cards. You can use the rubber stamps, Montage, Photochips, Filmstrips, and Wordstrips. You can also use other embellishments but the main focus of the ATC should be the Wilderness image.

ATC's: 10 for 9

Please note: The extra ATC will be kept as a 'master set' here in the Darkroom Door studio. These may be shown on display at trade shows. All images will be put into a Wilderness Swap gallery here on the website. All participants will receive a small goodie bag of Darkroom Door product in return for the extra artwork.

Due Date: Monday 31st August, 2009.

Viva La Flora Swap Video

Last month we hosted an Artist Trading Card Swap using the Viva La Flora Collection! We had participants from all over the world and as usual the ATC's were amazing!!!!
