What a creative start to the year this has been already! Chris has some more fab projects to share with you...
Book mark:
Materials:
Purple Roses - A4 Pearlescent Paper
White Roses - A4 Pearlescent Paper
Wildflower – Rubber Stamps
Scallop punch
Ribbon, trim
Ink
Description:
Recently on flickr I saw a book mark like this one and it reminded me that I too had made one of these at Vacation bible school many years ago. Basically all you need to make one of these is to snip the corner from an envelope or as I have done, from a brown paper bag. I then used a scallop punch on the cut edge to make it look a bit fancier. I adhered some ribbon, trim and Pearlescent papers. I also stamped the butterflies from the Wildflower stamp set onto the left over piece of brown paper bag, cut them out and placed them onto the book mark. I finished it off with the ‘spread your wings’ stamp from the wildflower stamp set.
Key Ring:
Materials:
Robot Vol 1 – Filmstrips
Blush - 12x12 Paper
Black cardstock
Description:
Both of my daughters have just saved up their pocket money and bought themselves a Nintendo DS game. They were wanting a key ring to hook onto their DS and it gave me the idea to create one using the Robot filmstrip and the very cute girl robot! I just punched her out with a circle punch and then matted her on black cardstock and the Blush paper from the Full Bloom range. I then traced a scallop circle I had onto some black cardstock and glued it all together. I found an old key ring hanger laying around, punched a tiny hole and attached the key ring.
'If nothing ever changed' Layout:
Materials:
12x12 Paper: Ti Amo, Rialto, San Marco, Esplori, Blush
A4 Pearlescent Paper: Pink Roses
Rubber Stamps: Wildflower
Scalloped cardstock
Ink
Description:
This layout was created purely because I just couldn’t stop playing with my Darkroom Door products. I had already used all these papers on my previous projects and only had scraps left, but I knew I could create something else from them. I had this adorable photo of my girls that worked in beautifully with both the Venetian collection papers, the Blush paper and the Pink Rose Pearlescent paper. I did lots of layering and distressing on the edges of the papers as well as trimming around the side edges to match the scalloped cardstock. I stamped the wildflowers and butterflies onto the Esplori paper, cut them out and attached them to the layout. Once again attaching only the centre of the butterflies which allow the wings to be lifted from the page. I stamped the quote onto the Blush paper, trimmed around it and rounded the corners with a corner rounder. The quote was perfect for my feelings about this photo of my daughters and how they are changing and growing up.
