August 2008

Ornate Elements & Christmas Reindeer

Here's our last day of teasers! Only one more sleep and everything will be up on the website. I can't wait!! In the meantime, here's the last two ATC's...

From DDRS019 Ornate Elements:

ATC_10

The lady image is from the Ladies Photobooth. Everything else is stamps from this set. (The scan of the ATC is a little wonky... but as they say in Babe... It'll do pig, it'll do.)

And last but not least... from DDRS020 Christmas Reindeer:

ATC_11

Woo hoo! That's the end of the teasers! I'll be back again tomorrow with the full reveal.

Hope you had a great weekend!

Garden Greetings, Friendship Flowers & Trees

I have 3 new sets to tease you with today! All of these come from the new Essentials 2 Collection.

First off is the DDRS016 Garden Greetings:

ATC_7

Similar in style to the Full Bloom Vol 1 set. Just different flowers and different sentiments!

Next up is the DDRS017 Friendship Flowers stamp set:

ATC_8

Lots of flowers and words in this one! I've been playing around with this one a lot, and look forward to sharing more with you over the next week.

And last but not least..... DDRS018 Trees:

ATC_9

Oh my word - I love this set!! I have been creating some real earthy toned cards with this (like this ATC) and have been loving the results! Lots of detail in the trees!

I hope you're enjoying the teasers! I'm madly trying to complete more samples for the gallery which will go up on Monday 1st September too.

Don't forget to drop by again tomorrow to see the last of the teasers!

Robot Vol 1 & Robot Vol 2

Now for something a little more funky...

From DDRS014 Robot Vol 1 in the Robot Collection:

ATC_5

Created with one of the Robots from this collection (my fave robot actually. Look at those eyes! They make me laugh!) The background was created with alcohol inks. There is much more to this set that I couldn't include on one ATC, which is the story for all of these ATC's. Can't give everything away all at once, can I?

Here's one made from DDRS015 Robot Vol 2 in the Robot Collection:

ATC_6

One for all you funky chicks out there! I've stamped these directly onto coloured backgrounds, but you could also stamp these onto white cardstock and colour them in. Lots of fun to be had with these two sets!!

Chorus & Rockstar

Continuing on with the teaser ATC's...

Here's one made from DDRS012 Chorus in the Music Collection:

ATC_3

It's quite challenging doing just one ATC from the stamp set, as there's so much more to show! This set is the more arty one of all the Music sets - I love it!!

And here's an ATC created from DDRS013 Rockstar, also from the Music Collection:

ATC_4

This one is for all the rockers out there!

I'll be back tomorrow with more ATC's. Also - we've uploaded the new intro movie to the website, so check it out here.

(Note: If you have visited the Darkroom Door site recently, you may need to refresh your cache to see the new movie. So refresh - and enjoy!) Come back and tell me what you think!

Harmony & Melody

Would you like to see some of the new stamps? (silly question, huh! LOL)

Today I have started creating some samples, and will show you an ATC from each stamp set between now and Monday when the whole release will be up on the website! Sorry there are no links just yet, I'll link them up when the stamps are on the website. For now, I hope you enjoy these...

So here's ATC #1.... from stamp set DDRS010 Harmony, in the Music Collection.

ATC_1

The violin looks all grungey in this ATC, as it was stamped onto a manila shipping tag which soaks up and spreads the ink a little. I wanted to go for a textured antique feel. The detail in this stamp is very fine though - looks fabulous on glossy cardstock too. The Philosophy Tag by Tim Holtz fitted this ATC perfectly, here's a close up to see the tag in better detail:

ATC_1a

ATC #2... from DDRS011 Melody, in the Music Collection:

ATC_2

I love this set. There's so much that can be done with it! I especially love my flute lady. Notice the ornate corners too? And the words are from a quote. Again stamped onto a manila tag, cut down and mounted onto cardstock. The laces I bought from Charlotte's Web while in Adelaide last weekend.

I look forward to sharing more ATC's with you as I create them... and keep an eye out on the website... we are uploading a new intro film tonight which will show you even more from the Music Collection.

Pearlescent Collection

Pearlescent_Collection_320

And here's another teaser (although you can see the whole collection in this image!)

Introducing Darkroom Door's first series of pearlescent A4 papers! Printed on 120gsm pearlescent paper, they are suitable for invitations, greeting cards, scrapbooking and all papercraft.

Each pack will contain 10 sheets of the same design.

And now for something a little different...

DDCC004_Robot_Collection

Full reveal on the website: 1st September.

In the meantime, if I have more to share... I will! We're busy here trying to get everything ready, and of course we are having WAY too much fun with funny little robots :)

If you're in Adelaide this weekend, I'll be at the Stamping & Scrapbooking fair in Morphettville doing some demo's. Please drop by if you'll be in the area!

But wait... there's more!

DDCC003_Music_Collection_320

Coming soon...

Thank you for your patience and comments! I'm busting to share it all, but I promise we'll reveal everything as soon as we can! In the meantime, enjoy the teasers ;)

Guess What!

Venice Mini Book:

LorriLennox_1

Darkroom Door Materials:
Paper: Venetian Collection
Photobooth: Ladies
Montage: Venetian
Wordstrips: Venetian

Other supplies: Kaiser book, Collections paper, 7 gypsies rub ons, and other small embellishments.

Instructions:
I started with a Kaiser blank "Designer" book  and covered the pages in Darkroom Door background papers. On two pages I combined different papers together to create a different effect. I then inked all the edges of every page, using Tim Holtz inkpads.

Using a 'Collections' paper, I cut out the flower and adhered it to the first page of the book, and adhered a small flower embellishment in the centre using mounting foam. A Collections word "Forever Dreams" was also used on the front page of the book.7 Gyspies rub-on "Photographie" was used in the inner pages.

LorriLennox_2

When all the pages were covered, I chose various pictures from the Ladies Photo Booth, re-coloured them using Tim Holtz inkpads to change from the black & white & sepia colours into a darker tone. Again, I then inked the edges of all pics.

LorriLennox_3

I chose the 'tags' from the Venetian Montage, cutting them out and inking them the same way as the photos. I used these in the central pages of the book, but other pictures or photographs could be used to personalise this book, or a combination of both.A small section of the Venetian Wordstrips was cut out, inked and adhered to the 3rd page (that shows from the front of the book).

The word "Venice" was attached in letter charms. Other various charms & embellishments were used to complete the project - this could be adapted using a personal preference. I cut out the word "Venetian" and a strip of the words "Venice, Italy, Venezia" for the 3rd page (that shows from the front of the book) inked them and adhered them to the pages. The binding holes were all covered using 7Gypsies black cloth reinforcements. Various fibres were tied through each hole to hold the book together. A couple of charms were added to the fibres.

A huge thanks to both Bec and Lorri for sharing their artwork (and Bec's birthday!) with us this week!
