Venice Mini Book:
Darkroom Door Materials:
Paper: Venetian Collection
Photobooth: Ladies
Montage: Venetian
Wordstrips: Venetian
Other supplies: Kaiser book, Collections paper, 7 gypsies rub ons, and other small embellishments.
Instructions:
I started with a Kaiser blank "Designer" book and covered the pages in Darkroom Door background papers. On two pages I combined different papers together to create a different effect. I then inked all the edges of every page, using Tim Holtz inkpads.
Using a 'Collections' paper, I cut out the flower and adhered it to the first page of the book, and adhered a small flower embellishment in the centre using mounting foam. A Collections word "Forever Dreams" was also used on the front page of the book.7 Gyspies rub-on "Photographie" was used in the inner pages.
When all the pages were covered, I chose various pictures from the Ladies Photo Booth, re-coloured them using Tim Holtz inkpads to change from the black & white & sepia colours into a darker tone. Again, I then inked the edges of all pics.
I chose the 'tags' from the Venetian Montage, cutting them out and inking them the same way as the photos. I used these in the central pages of the book, but other pictures or photographs could be used to personalise this book, or a combination of both.A small section of the Venetian Wordstrips was cut out, inked and adhered to the 3rd page (that shows from the front of the book).
The word "Venice" was attached in letter charms. Other various charms & embellishments were used to complete the project - this could be adapted using a personal preference. I cut out the word "Venetian" and a strip of the words "Venice, Italy, Venezia" for the 3rd page (that shows from the front of the book) inked them and adhered them to the pages. The binding holes were all covered using 7Gypsies black cloth reinforcements. Various fibres were tied through each hole to hold the book together. A couple of charms were added to the fibres.
A huge thanks to both Bec and Lorri for sharing their artwork (and Bec's birthday!) with us this week!
